Senior Ski Trip! Pt. 3- Second full day

Yep, I'm on the third official ski trip post. And I've got one more coming...

But that will be it, I promise!

If you want to read about my ski trip in chronological order, you can scroll down the page and find and start at the first one, or you can click the nifty list of links below...

After our wonderful first full day in Keystone, we started up again for our second full day!

I was excited about today in particular because we were gonna have the chance to try night skiing tonight!

But that was still 12 hours away. I had a whole wonderful day ahead of me. After breakfast we headed to the slopes. Jennifer and I wanted to go back up the mountain, but we stayed with Katie and Kristen on the bunny slope for a while...

Which was fine, cause I got a chance to take some pictures...

Riding the bunny slope with Katie. She was freaked out that I had my camera out, but I made her take a picture anyway...

I really love this one! Totally worth Katie being freaked out for a moment. ;)

A view from the top of the bunny slope...
Looks so exciting, right?

Katie took a picture of me at the top of the bunny hill...

At about noon Katie and Kristen went back to our cabin-lodge-thing and Jennifer and I went up half way with some people trying the mountain for the first time.

Since we were skiing with some newbies, Jennifer and I were considerably quicker and had to stop at points and wait a little while for the others. Yet another chance to get out my little camera a snap a few pics up on the mountain...

Jennifer at a stop on the mountain...
I'm still amazed at how quickly she caught on. I'm so glad she did, though. She was a wonderful ski buddy!

After one or two runs (I can't remember how many) we headed back to our cabin a bit early, so we could all go out and do a little souvenir shopping and explore the town some that afternoon...

And, of course, there were many pictures taken.

Walking to our second bus stop...
I loved those red lamp posts. They were everywhere!

Me and Kristen...
A little close 'cause it was accidentally zoomed in a little, but I still like it. She actually looks paler than me. Crazy!

Me and Katie...

Me and Jenn...
and Katie creeping in the background. Ha.

The main shopping area in Keystone...

Our feet in the middle of the shopping area...
I don't what it is, but I love this picture.

Walking to a store...
My caption on this photo on facebook is "my two favorite red-heads." It's true. And I love this picture.

Jennifer, Katie and me, waiting for Kristen to get done in a store...
Kinda awkward, but kinda cute. :)

Story time!
Anybody remember this post? Well, I mentioned a certain boy band that my friends and I had rediscovered in that post. The band? Hanson! Well, after I wrote that post, my friend Katie and I became fans all over again. I even got her all of their old CD's for her birthday last fall! Anyway, their not popular anymore, but Katie and I talk about how much we love them all the time! You may ask what this has to do with my ski trip, or shopping that afternoon. Well, I'll tell you!

Katie had told me a week or so before the trip she had a dream that we met Hanson in Keystone! I know totally unrealistic, but we had been joking about the whole time we were on the trip. And had even been playing their old songs while we got ready that morning...

Remember that Hanson isn't really popular anymore. Especially their 90's song MMMbop, which I personally love. :)

SO, we were shopping around a store and had been looking around for a while, when all of the sudden, what comes on the radio? MMMBOP! All of us, (Kristen, Katie, Jennifer and me), just looked at each other for a second in shock and then we all burst out in glee and laughter. It may not sounds too funny to you, but it was one of my favorite of parts of the day! We were so worked up about it, we didn't even think to take a picture in front of the store.

Story time over!

After we got done exploring and shopping we were parched, so we stopped into the Starbucks in Keystone and I got the most delicious drink-- Passion Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade. It was so good! I don't frequent Starbucks too often and I'd never had that drink, but I was a satisfied customer, that's for sure.

Me enjoying my delicious drink, while waiting for our bus to take us back to our cabin-lodge-room-thing...

Once we got back to our cabin we chilled a bit before dinner. Jennifer and I got back in our ski clothes before dinner because after that we were heading out to night ski!

Dinner was eaten and we headed out for night skiing with Jay and two other senior guys that wanted to go. That was it, just 4 of the 18 seniors went night skiing... Their loss!

Once we got there Jay said we would have to go all the way to the top, which Jenn was a bit nervous about because she had only skied down half way so far. But she was brave and pressed on! They only run gondolas at night, so we took the long gondola ride up, which was kind of freaky, but once we got to the top it was the coolest view ever! You could see over to other ski towns all lit up, it was an amazing view! Jennifer and I were both getting pretty excited.

The only picture I got was one before we skied down the first time, it's not very good, but it's all I've got...

Then we headed down... It was so fun! With fewer people out there, you could go so much quicker! We stopped pretty often so we didn't get too far apart. At one point toward the bottom we lost one of the senior guys (Raymond), so the other senior guy (Nathan), who was on a snow board, walked all the way back up to the last place we stopped to try and find him... but he didn't, so we figured he got off on a different trail and figured we'd find him back at the bottom. We did and it was all good.

Both the senior guys were tired, so they headed back to the rooms and Jay took Jennifer and me up one more time! It was more fun the second time around because we knew what was coming and we didn't have to stop as much, (because we had less people.) We also went a lot faster the second time. Even Jay, who is a really good and fast skier, said he couldn't believe how quick we were going and he thought we were doing really well. Awesome! He also said we got down in 13 and something minutes, which is according to him, a pretty good time. All-in-all, night skiing was even better than I expected it to be. I'm glad I did it and I'm glad I had such a brave friend in Jennifer to be adventurous with me!

After all that we headed back for group time.

We were tired and sweaty, so we stopped by our room real quick to shed some layers and cool off.

Had another great group time with everyone and we hung out with everyone for a while after it was over... Once we got back to our room we all went to bed pretty quickly. We were all pretty tired from the day and we couldn't believe that tomorrow was our last full day in Keystone...

To be continued.

I've got one more post about the ski trip and I'll be done! Keep your eyes peeled for that one tomorrow!
