I have had a very busy weekend. I have been helping plan a girls' weekend with some of the junior girls, and it came around this weekend. A couple of the Junior girls had the day off on Friday, so we met up at the church that morning to start getting everything ready. Friday was pretty stressful, especially for three teenage girls trying to get around the church to prepare with people giving us looks like we were vandalizing the place or something...no offense to any adults reading this, but sometimes some adults have a tendency to assume things about anyone under the age of 18 (we're not all bad, I promise!!!). Did I mention that it was completely student led? It was, and I can just say that I have a new found respect for anyone who plans these kinds of things. The whole weekend was centered around becoming more unified as a group of Christian girls. We had three sessions about communication, love, peace and how they all relate to being more unified. We also had lots of fun games and a movie night where we watched "Enchanted"! I think (well I hope, at least) that all the girls really enjoyed it. :) Anyway to make what was a very long weekend short, God really helped to make it all work out in the end, and I pray that He was glorified through everything that happened this weekend.
This was our sort of unofficial verse this weekend (we never really picked one particular one)
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to god."
Romans 15:5-7
Here are some of the few pictures we actually had time to take...

Kristen and I after a very long Friday. There is something strange going on with my hair...

Jenn and I at about 12:30 a.m. isn't it sickening how good she looks for what time it is... I look like I'm about to keel over... because I was :)

One last pic before the weekend was over. All of us on Sunday night "laughing like Katie"

ha sounds like fun. and i do know what you mean about the whole under 18 thing. i have no idea why they do that.... ok ya i do. but they shouldn't. at least not for us :D
Patricia had a blast at the retreat, including the games. Thanks for all the time you put into the retreat. I loved the t-shirts. Who designed it?
I'm so glad Patricia had a good time!
The idea for the t-shirts came from a meeting with Anna when we were deciding on a theme for the weekend. When we decided on unity with the three sessions (communication, love, and peace) Anna mentioned how unity was our "umbrella theme" and then she drew a little umbrella. Lindsay Ledbetter came up with design, and then the t-shirt guy came up with what we have now (which is a little different) and we really love how they turned out.
Thanks to all of you for a great job. Rebecca is still talking about how much fun she had.
Michele, I am so impressed that you guys planned this all yourself!! (and I think you look just great for being so tired, by the way).
Sounds like it was soooooo much fun-wish I was there--were somewhat older, but still young-at-heart ladies welcome? Probably not, but I can dream can't I?
