Now onto what this blog is really about-my weekend.
It was a long weekend. It started Friday afternoon when me and my awesome friend Katie (who never blogs on her blog) had the lovely and super-talented Elisabeth take some senior pictures for us. We started about 5:30 and took pictures for about two hours. I had straightened my hair, but it was so humid my hair started curling up! Other than that it was a lot of fun.
Katie and I felt pretty nasty afterward. We were both hot and sweaty (because it was so humid), AND we were starving. So we picked up some food and relaxed at her house for a little before I went home.
Saturday I went up to help with the children's choir dress rehearsal at church. There was some CA-RAZY thunderstorms that came through while the kids were rehearsing. So bad that at one point we moved all the kids to one of the hallways in the church for about 15 minutes. There were no tornados, just crazy strong winds and some hail. You can read more about this day, and see some pictures I took, over on Barb's blog. And in the very slight chance you haven't seen this footage, here's a video of the Dallas Cowboys Practice bubble collasping that same day....
Crazy, right? Yep, those are the same storms we had. We were just in a nice solid brick building.
Sunday, of course, was the day of the children's musical. My main "job" was taking pictures with Barb's awesome DLSR camera of the musical-- since she was busy directing the choir. Compared to most people who consider themselves "photographers", I know just about nada when it come digital SLRs, but I tried my best with what I did know, and hopefully I got some good pictures!
Maybe I'll post sone pictures from the musical once Barb puts some up.
::::UPDATED::::
Barb posted some pictures from the musical day, so here are some I took that I 'stole' off her facebook. They aren't the best quality, since I don't have the originals, but I really wanted to put some up here. :)
The musical was 'Promise U.' It talked all about God's promises over the past two-thousand years. This was the back of the t-shirts...

If you couldn't tell from the title of this musical, it was set on a college campus...
Some of the cast in the musical...
The 'spirit team'...

In the center of the picture below is 'Bubba Spielberger', the 'promising film student at promise you', and also my little brother!
I thought he was hilarious as Bubba, but I am biased. :)
Evan/Bubba singing his solo on "All Who Call"...

The choir, signing to "All Who Call"...

The choir on a song where they used flip signs. So fun...

Ahhh, the awesome finally. Complete with exploding confetti cannons...
Lots of fun! :)
You can read lots more, and see more pictures, over on Barb's blog.

I love any chance I get to try out DSLRs, and it makes me even more anxious about getting my Rebel! I probably wont have enough for it 'til the summer sometime, but I cannot wait.
That was my weekend. I'm sorry I've got nothing better to blog about right now. Ha.
I am going to try and get an American Idol posts up this week, so stayed tuned for that! :)

You did get some great photos, they're now on both facebook and my blog. I always have trouble shooting in lowlight. Maybe I'll have to get you to show me what setting you used on MY camera! Crazy that you seem to know more about using it than I do! But I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I really appreciate you taking the pics. They're fabulous.
Aw, thank you! And I'd be happy to share with you the tiny bit of information I know about DSLR's!
